April 2017 - Fish

2nd-3rd Grade

Project Title: Fish

Description:
  • Kindergarten - 3rd Grade were read Happy by Mies van Hout, a book about expressing emotions.  Students planned their drawing using white charcoal pencils.  Next chalk was dipped into water cups and turned to paint resulting in our vibrant, expressive fish.

March 2017 - Mexican Prints

2nd-3rd Grade

Project Title: Mexican Prints

Description:
  • Students chose an image  from the Mexican culture to recreate.  This image was traced into a foam printing lock using a pencil.  A variety of colored printer ink and fluorescent tagboard were considered before printing their image.  Students experienced the basic process of printmaking as well as learned new art vocabulary.
